The Antonym of "Summit" is "Base"

Last week, the northeast Ohio county of Summit announced they were considering passing an ordinance to prohibit county workers from carrying firearms while working or doing county business, even while in personal vehicles. [More]
This is my home county. Russ Pry's poorly hidden hand is no surprise:
Pry is a strong leader who will continue to collaborate...
And I mean that in the Vicchy French sense of the term...

So how fitting and typical that he surrendered before a fight.

For the Children

Registration and licensing hasn't worked. It's time for an outright ban. [More]

There's one nagging suspicion I've had ever since this story broke, but I've noticed that nobody in all of "Authorized Journalism" is even asking about it...Still, it doesn't seem all that unreasonable a line of inquiry...

Ah well, I'm probably just being paranoid, hysterical and jingoistic. I need to get my imagination in check and focus on the real threat we all face.

We're the Only Ones Bagging Our Limit Enough

Coffey's family members said Sunday they doubt Minton's claim that he was provoked. "He was taken from us and he was shot on his own land minding his own business. Who shoots a 76-year-old on his own land?" Coffey's daughter told WXII12 news. [More]
Who indeed? Unfortunately, we'll never know Coffey's side of the story.

Not that the locals aren't speculating...

The family of a man who was stabbed to death by teenage thugs after he asked them to keep the noise down have been denied compensation - because he tried to fight off his killers. [More]

The Forest for the Trees

A former immigration adjudicator with the Department of Homeland Security was convicted by a federal grand jury Monday for conspiring to encourage immigrants to enter the country illegally and accepting a bribe to do it. [More]
I'd say Homeland Security is looking for threats to the Republic in all the wrong places...

Confirming Suspicions

Every time officials act to marginalize those of us working to return to Constitutional governance, they merely raise suspicions that they are acting to steal the very liberties we believe them to be stealing. [More]
PolyKahr has more to say about this...

Advice from an Expert

"The two times that I got mugged..."

Laughing here. Yeah, I think I'll be taking armed defense advice from an oblivious perpetually Condition White cud-chewer. I guess he just can't grasp that not everyone is as demonstrably incompetent as he is, which, I guess is why he is so demonstrably incompetent.

Michael Dozier, thank you for being you.

The thought strikes, he could be a Mary McFate-style insider, you know, intentionally making the Bradyites look ridiculous...? Because I truly can't imagine any "man" this effete and stupid. So maybe I'll just shut up about him now, and let him continue to do our work for us...

Oh, look--we must have struck a nerve:
The Brady Campaign "Group" has just gone "private" to facilitate better conversation amongst activists. If you have an idea or story to share please join and interact with activists, victims and other supporters. Trolls that come in to promote gun have been or shall be deleted/banned.
Man, I'm glad we got Michael on the inside before they did that.

We're the Only Ones "Do as We Say, Not as We Do" Enough

Officer Karen Dula did television interviews on local stations in 2006 advising center city bar hoppers not to drive drunk...

It made waves when Dula, then 27, was arrested -- in Uptown of all places -- by the state highway patrol at 1:30 a.m. on Jan. 11 for driving drunk....

Dula was not only still working for the department, but was working as a patrol officer in the department's Metro division, which covers Uptown. That means she can ticket and arrest other drivers for breaking the law, including for drunk driving. Adding further insult to irony is the fact that Dula, who lost her license for 30 days, had to go to court to get her driving privileges reinstated during work hours so she could drive to and from work -- and drive her patrol car. [More]
And we haven't even gotten to the good part yet. Speeding killers, violent lesbians...no doubt just a few bad apples in the Charlotte-Mecklenburg "Only Ones" barrel...

Why does our Government Equate Constitutionalists with Terrorists?

Demonizing gun owners who believe in the founders' intent of the Second Amendment is nothing new for our government. I've been following such attempts for years, including media attempts to dismiss us as "vermin." [More]
Today's Gun Rights Examiner column looks at the new Homeland Security "right wing" report in light of similar attempts to smear Constitutionalists over recent years.

They do consider you an enemy, you know. Why else would they want to disarm you?

This Day in History: April 14

A Resolution by the Second Continental Congress, April 14, 1777 and printed by John Dunlap. One page, 8" x 13", Philadelphia. Signed in type by "JOHN HANCOCK, PRESIDENT", this rare resolution called for the substitution of the previous articles of the "Rules and Articles for the better Government of the Troops" with the four articles listed on this broadside. These articles allowed soldiers to bring their own provisions into American forts and garrisons; permitted officers to take complaints to the Continental General; allowed court-martials only be given after due process; and gave each states' Continental General the power to appoint military courts and pardon punishments (except for those sentenced to death).
