A Letter to Congress

Carl S allows me to share his:
I swore an oath to support and defend the Constitution. My word means something to me. I defended one “line in the sand” and if need be, I and my brothers in arms can do so again.

It’s not your job to make that impossible. It is your job to make that unnecessary.

Where the Hell are the Kidnaping Charges?

Two judges pleaded guilty on Thursday to accepting more than $2.6 million from a private youth detention center in Pennsylvania in return for giving hundreds of youths and teenagers long sentences. [More]
We talked about these evil, mercenary, oath-breaking bastards here.

This kind of stuff makes me come close to reconsidering the merits of crucifixion.

We're the Only Ones Escalating the Situation Enough

Travelling down the escalator, she was looking for her fare in her bag when a police officer told her to hold the rail. When she told him she didn't have three hands he demanded to see her ID so that he could write her a ticket. [More]
And naturally, things escalated from there, as only an "Only One" can make them escalate...

I guess it's safer than messing with bad guys who are capable of escalating back...

We're the Only Ones Forgetful Enough

The D.A. believes OC deputies had "blue amnesia" – they lied, or conveniently "forgot" critical facts – when testifying in a case involving one of their own. It's the latest incident in a string of cases involving sheriff's deputies who allegedly covered up for their misbehaving colleagues, ranging from the D.A.'s allegations of departmental perjury and witness tampering...[More]
Keep it up. At some point, people are going to conveniently forget critical facts and cover up for their fellows who are fed up with "Only One" corruption and violence...

Some might just be prone to "red, white and blue amnesia"...

New York, New York, What a Wonderful Town

Downtown Manhattan, the city's party mecca, has been hit by an alarming spike in vicious street violence.

Assaults in Greenwich Village lead the frightening upturn, with a whopping 43 percent increase so far this year compared with the same period in 2008. [More]

I'm having a tough time giving a damn.

For All You "Hoarders"

Unknown to many Americans, gold has been confiscated in the United States three different times throughout history. Some of these events took place during the Revolutionary war, Civil war, and most recently in 1933 by president Franklin Delano Roosevelt (FDR). Silver was later confiscated in 1934. [More]
At which point, expect some to turn to government for all their needs--at the time and place of their choosing.

We're the Only Ones Reefer Madness Enough

Gallatin County Sheriff Raymond Martin was arrested Monday and appeared in court on three counts of distributing marijuana and two counts of carrying a firearm while trafficking drugs. [More]
You know what they say--"Only Ones" always get the best dope...

We're the Only Ones Getting You All Choked Up Enough

Police beat teen on tape? [More]
The famous "Only Ones" paradox: The only charge is "resisting arrest." I wasn't aware that a hand over the mouth while the forearm is wrapped around the throat was a standard technique.

Maybe it's a "distraction suffocation".

Meanwhile, Over in Snuffy Pfleger Paradise

So far this school year, 36 children and teens have been murdered -- more than one a week -- and Pfleger is among a chorus of weary Chicagoans who say the slayings aren't getting the attention they deserve. [More]
Well, maybe if you'd join with rational people and help us "snuff out" citizen disarmament and a host of government edicts policies and programs that incubate and guarantee a feral underclass of criminals and parasites, we'd start getting a handle on the problem.

The Cambridge Paradox

A man has been shot near a Harvard University dormitory. [More]
But...but...but...

McCarthy Introduces 'No Rights' List

And as we've seen time and again, suspicion of being a shady character in the eyes of the government can often be something as innocuous as...believing in the Constitution. Add in McCarthy's resurrected rights eradication plot (that relies on accurate record-keeping from people known to lie about it)--and don't forget Peter King's latest attempt at subversion (what is it with New York politicians?) and you have a perfect formula for denying "legal" gun purchases to ...uh...practically anyone the government wants to.

It's the "other purposes" mentioned in McCarthy's bill. [More]
More subversive, in-your-face aggression from the spiteful congressow that brought us the Assault Shoulder Things that Go Up ban...

Also find out who's gloating at gun owners in Oregon and get the latest from my fellow GREs.

Tell a friend?

This Day in History: May 19

The Friends of Peter Pickman Frye (who is under Sentence to be Shott for Desertion) have earnestly requested a Suspension of Execution, untill they can prefer a petition to the Honble Congress and receive their Determination thereon. As this request was backed by some Gentlemen of distinction I conceived it to be my Duty to indulge them with Time to present their Petition and have suspended his Executiong to the 12th of June next. His Friends beg a pardon, the public call for his Execution; The former say he is Insane, the latter that he is more Knave than Fool. For my own part I neither ask for a pardon, or Execution, but shall strictly execute the pleasure of Congress. [More]

This one intrigued me enough to do a further search. It looks like after a series of stays of execution, Frye was finally pardoned due to "unsound mind."
