BATFU News Network

As of this moment, if you do a Google News search for the term "ATF," three of the articles on the first page of hits are mine, including the first two.

This Examiner.com opportunity can make a difference at getting the message outside of the blogosphere and in front of a more general readership. That's why I bug readers here every day with my incessant request to "tell a friend."

A Man of Influence

The NYPD and other security professionals are not only capable of meeting those needs; they are the only ones who should be meeting them. [More]
Interesting that he chose that term.

Brad Hirschfeld, you're a fool. History has taught you nothing.

No wonder he's been "named as one of the nation’s 50 most influential rabbis in Newsweek, and one of the top 30 'Preachers and Teachers' by Beliefnet.com."

We're the Only Ones Shocking Enough

A Volusia County, Fla., deputy is the subject of an internal investigation for allegedly using his Taser gun on a friend for fun. [More]
Because their superior judgment and knowledge of watt's up, volt's happening and current practices, combined with such ample ability, is why they're "Only Ones" and we're not.

And I do apologize.

Are You Prepared?

All I’m saying is prepare yourself for the worst-case scenario. If your defense includes your gun, then make sure that you have it together. Know it, practice with it and have a plan in case you need to respond. [More]
Sage advice from a cop who evidently doesn't consider himself to be an "Only One."

Which is a good thing.

We're the Only Ones Back on the Job Enough

Last month, the Shreveport Municipal Fire and Police Civil Service Board voted to reinstate Willis on the police force. He'll get full back pay and benefits for the year-and-a-half he was fired. The reason? During the internal investigation of Willis, a polygraph machine operator failed to record the results of his Q&A with Willis. This apparently is a violation of Louisiana's "Police Officer's Bill of Rights," a set of guidelines every department must follow when investigating officer misconduct. [More]
You remember Willis...he's the big brave "Only One" who really knows how to treat a lady:

Artificial government-declared privileges (aka "Police Officer's Bill of Rights") trump your unalienable ones. At least the government in Shreveport seems to think that.

That's why "The police have the power to suspend your rights" advocate Cedric Glover is a proud member of Mayors Against (Your) Guns.

We're the Only Ones Bringing Up the Rear Enough Redux

We talked about the cop charged with rear-ending a car/DUI here.

A GeorgiaPacking forum poster says the guy really is an "Only One."

Here's the initial post. Follow the thread for more info:
[T]his is one of the officers that decided to felony stop my wife, my father in law and myself for legally carrying a handgun.
You can read his account of the incident here. What sterling professionals. How to win friends and influence people.

Per Atlanta Gun Rights Examiner Ed Stone, via email:
The felony stop was committed against them because he was, legally, carrying a pistol in a belt holster. He was ordered to his knees at gunpoint! He reports in a later post how the officer's gun was shaking as it was pointing at his head.
Perhaps the Gwinnett County Police could use some encouragement right now on how they could improve public perceptions...

What? No badge? No ID?

Why of course I'll let you bind me to render me helpless and in your power.

With that kind of attitude, how could you not be a real "Only One"?

Who Lives in a Pineapple Under the Sea?

When assault jellyfish are outlawed...

And what's with a weapons charge for a pocketknife?

Anyway, incidents like this always seem to bring out the cnidariaphobes, so I thought I'd demonstrate that jellyfishing is a great recreational sport that is safely and responsibly enjoyed by millions, and the actions of a few irresponsible criminals shouldn't be used to infringe on our rights.

Perhaps this isn't the best example...

Demand Hearings into ATF Corruption Allegations

Still, there's something proponents of all three approaches--and their critics--ought to be able to do now that could have a satisfying effect--and will only burden anyone supporting it for a minute or two. Mike Vanderboegh at Sipsey Street Irregulars proposed it, and I think it's a powerful idea and well worth exploiting... [More]
Today's Gun Rights Examiner shows you something you can do right now to help hold some BATFU decision-makers accountable for their abuses.

Rather than my usual "tell a friend?" plea, I'll repeat my column ending:
Isn't it past time we made some of the abusers personally accountable for their actions? Will you take a few minutes to join me, and to spread the word?
Will you?
