Snafu keeps gun dealers in jail as attorney urges investigation of prosecutors

“They are waiting for the ankle monitors to get in for the release. United States Probation is getting them,” it was explained.

What this means is, the only reason the father and son have not already been released and must wait until at least Monday to be able to rejoin their family, is because those holding them are unable to comply with the judge’s order, and made no preparations anticipating the likely potential that a prosecution relying on suppression of evidence to win convictions might be overruled. Today's Gun Rights Examiner report brings the latest outrage this poor family must endure, courtesy of that entity Constitutionally mandated "to secure the Blessings of Liberty to ourselves and our Posterity."

Well Alrighty Then

I can't recall ever spending a dime on this guy's movies anyway.  I could take him for about five minutes and then he just gets irritating. [Read]

The Big Game

When I did my radio show announcement (see post below), I checked if today's Super Bowl was going to be running at the same time.  It starts at 6 p.m. Eastern.

I honestly am so detached from that I didn't even know who was playing until I went to the CBS website.  I guess I've heard there's a football team called the Ravens before, but the whole thing is generally so not part of my universe, except when they make it so.

Like the Bloomberg-Menino commercial last year.

Or that moron Scott Whitlock.

Or that meathead Mike Ditka.

And while tonight's big game will be on a different network, don't be surprised to see a Bob Costas moment or two, what with the Newtown students pre-game song and the comment opportunities that will lend, as well as the latest Leni Riefenstahl short from Bürgermeister gegen Guns, thankfully confined to the cheer-leading section.

Radio Flyers

I'll be on two programs today:
  • At 3 p.m. Eastern I'll be joining Kate Krueger's "Talking Guns" on Independent Talk KFNX 1100 Phoenix.  If you live outside the area, there's a "Listen Live" link.
  • I'll be back on the "Armed American Radio" Roundtable again tonight at 10 p.m. Eastern. You can find a station near you or listen via live streaming via website links. Mark's other guests will include trainer Rob Pincus, SAF's Alan Gottlieb, radio pro Joe Weaver, George "Mad Ogre" Hill and AAR producer Sean C. "Seanto" Young.  He'll be broadcasting live tonight from WGUL Talk Radio 860 in Tampa instead of from his regular digs high atop the Crossbreed Tower in the heart of metropolitan Atlanta...and I just got off the phone with him and he may be bringing me on earlier, but regardless, I'll be there for the RT.

Minnesota Alert

Who's working on fighting this? [Read]

Anybody got a handle on its chances?

I ask, because I go here, and based on the level of support, it looks like Minnesota gun owners must want it to pass.  Is the lack of support because they don't know about it, don't care about it, or are they just confident they have the votes to strangle it in its crib?

Who else is doing what?

Killing the Messenger

Gayle Trotter has made herself a target of those who would rather see her raped and strangled than armed. [Read]

See?

When both The New York Times and The Washington Post are out there blaring the same talking points, you just know her message scares the hell out of the powers that be.

And the thing is, their arguments are the same old stale, discredited ones, dusted off for this latest character assassination/disinformation campaign. Note they make no attempt to separate women living in criminal environments from the general population. Note also they limit DGUs to when a gun is "fired" for their comparison, as opposed to the mere presentation that can break off an attack with no further action needed. What that does is penalizes good armed citizens for not being the bloodthirsty trouble-seekers they paint us to be.

UPDATE: Naturally, Salon piles on. Hey Katie McDonough--let's say hypothetically a male (I don't honor such types by calling them "men") is getting ready to do whatever the hell he wants to you, and there's no one around to save you. What would you do? And Slate...

And Campus Progress ("young people working together for progressive change")

Say, this meme is getting quite the workout from those "women's' rights" champions.  It's almost like the so-called "feminist" movement actually hates women...

A Case to Watch

How can you be investigated for years, yet upon serving a search warrant you don’t put forth any charges against a man when you confiscate nearly 1,500 firearms? [More]
Good question.

The Correction that Wasn't

Except you go to that link and it doesn't--meaning Darlene Superville's/AP's ignorance was pointed out to them and instead of issuing a correction, they decided the best course was a mini-Commissar Vanishes erasure.  Naturally with no notice, because that would defeat the whole point of covering their tracks.

Drudge's observation is corroborated by comments on the same AP story as it appeared on Tulsa World, again with no correction notice issued:

Basic journalistic ethics: You mess up, you man up and admit it, and point out the correction.  You don't just hide it and hope no one notices. That's something a sneaky kid would do. And don't believe for a moment that just one person was in on this decision.

These are the people feeding gun information to the masses. No wonder when those masses are polled, the results reflect the ignorance and manipulation they've been subjected to by our Fourth Estate/Fifth Columnist "Authorized Journalist" Corps.

UPDATE: Doug Rink took a screenshot, and advises by email that the NYT made the same ignorant error but at least issued a correction.
