Tolerance and Diversity

Using "progressive" rules, how can this not be a "hate crime"? [More]

We're the Only Ones Commandeering Enough

If the facts really are as reported here, everyone involved in carrying out this assault deserved to be treated just like any other thug home invader. [More]

Inclusion of pro-gun constable as plaintiff against open carry raises questions

"I consider this lawyering at its worst,” Lewis declared. “I promptly went the Mississippi Bar Association and picked up three complaint forms for each attorney involved.” [More]
Today's Gun Rights Examiner report asks why a man was listed as a supporter of anti-gun legal action after he'd made his pro-gun position clear, and also asks what the gungrabbers were doing arranging a meeting with a senior judge four days before they filed their motion. This case stinks worse every time another layer is peeled back.

Why Must They Come?

And in time for what? [More]

ShotCounter

OK, it heard them and it counted them. [More]

So what the hell did it do about them?

Oh, I see. This is about ginning up hysteria to up the budget.  As if that would stop it.

I still wonder if playing some of these through loudspeakers would fool it.

Lemons into Lemonade

This ad just showed up on one of Kurt's Gun Rights Examiner columns. I've been told similar ones have shown up on mine.

It's not our fault, nor is there anything we can do about it.  My guess is the algorithm picks up the keyword "gun" and assigns ads accordingly.

On the plus side, it's making them waste money on pages where no one is likely to be influenced, which in turn allows us to attract bevies of supermodels on our yachts, or at least buy a dollar menu hamburger every couple days or so.

I still get complaints from people who say they're never going to go to our site again because of all the popups and videos, and all I can say is I use Firefox with adblock and never see any of that stuff.  Of course, that also makes me wonder if we get paid for page views where those are blocked.

I'd love to be able to think up a viable different and better arrangement. Unless and until that happens, as I repeatedly plead with regular readers, if you get value from the work and believe you're getting something unique, in lieu of a tip jar, please share our links.

Why wouldn't you?

If you don't get value from it, what in the world are you wasting your time here for?

The Savage Truth

It is a big deal because he had a bullet chambered in the gun and he had the safety off… [More]
As I've noted before, I have no idea why anyone who considers himself "freedom-oriented" has anything to do with this obnoxious carnival barker.

The guy is a sterile bee queen -- get all the drones following him instead of paying attention to voices that could matter.

Spilling His Seed on the Ground Redux

You'd think he'd have learned from the first Onan that no good can come of it, and I can't imagine  a better analogy for still supporting Rubio. [More]

What If?

Workman asks a question we'll need to wait to find the answer to. [More]

Me, I think if there are riots, and if cops end up killing rioters, that could be the catalyst to set all kinds of things in motion.

Faces from the Past

I remember my Dad telling me that when he was a boy, his class was visited by some Civil War veterans.  Some of them, in turn, would have been born while some of these men were still alive.

It kind of puts in perspective how brief the experiment has been and how quickly things have changed.

Truly Interest-Free?

Neither Giffords, shot in the head during a Tucson attack in 2011, nor Kelly is interested in taking a single weapon from any law-abiding gun owner. [More]
That's just not true. From Kelly's testimony before the Senate Judiciary Committee:
And, finally, let’s have a careful and civil conversation about the lethality of the firearms we permit to be legally bought and sold. You can’t just walk into a store and buy a machine gun, but you can easily buy a semi-automatic high velocity assault rifle and/or high capacity ammunition magazines. We should come together and decide where to draw that line in such a way that it protects our rights and communities alike.

I'd say he's more than "interested." Why else would he resort to ridiculous publicity stunts?

The bottom line: The "progressives" demand our complete surrender followed by conformity and obedience to everything else they insist on.

Text Reveals Goal

As many rifle rounds are also chambered for handgun as well, the entire stock of certain rifle rounds could certainly be banned. [More]
True, there is very little chance this will pass now.

How about next year? 10 years from now? 20?

They've won their victories in increments. They'll take future victories the same way.

That's why ceding any ground  -- any at all -- is simply an unacceptable strategy.

You don't allow the enemy a beachhead from which he can then launch his next assault.  And you don't throw a scrap of flesh to circling jackals with the assumption it will satisfy them and cause them to leave you in peace.

"No More Names" Bus Reported in AZ

Just saw this on the Gun Rights Examiners Facebook page:
I just saw the "No more names" bus getting on I-10 eastbound from Ray Rd in Phx, AZ.
I'd love it if an independent gas station operator refused to sell them fuel.

Perfectly Cast for the Role

[I]f you wanted to go to central casting and say, 'Give me one alderman that represents the culture and the history and the kind of spirit of Chicago,' Dick Mell would pop up and he would win the casting call without a doubt. [More]
And doesn't that just say it all?

As does the "Authorized Journalist" who  penned this retrospective attributing such corrupt and hypocritical abuse of power to his being "a colorful scamp."

Forget it Jake, it's Chi-Town.
