A First in Connecticut

That he said he had no idea the new law was in effect makes my sympathy level go way down. [More]

If he was telling the truth, as opposed to just trying to minimize his consequences, it means he's been letting others carry the load.I'll have a tough time getting behind supporting him unless I can establish to my satisfaction that he was simply lying about that to protect himself.

Well, That Was Fast

The antis just got done telling us Bloomberg was standing down on guns. [More]

Gosh, if you can't believe them, who can you trust?

2A Protection Bill in Florida

Per the Florida Tenth Amendment Center:
Gun Owners of America has thrown its weight behind the Florida Second Amendment Protection Act. The proposed legislation would prohibit any state cooperation with federal acts that violate the Second Amendment of the U.S. Constitution. “No agency of this state, political subdivision of this state, or employee of an agency or political subdivision acting in his or her official capacity, or corporation providing services on behalf of this state or a political subdivision of this state shall enforce any federal act, law, order, rule, or regulation of the federal government of the United States regarding a personal firearm, firearm accessory, or ammunition within the limits of this State.”
They include links to the draft bill as well as an executive summary and talking points here, along with action items they need help with.

If you're a Florida gun owner, are you going to sit by and let some guy in Ohio do more to promote and advance this than you will?

What’s clear from the outrage and disappointment is, contrary to what the name of Bloomberg’s front group implies, it’s not just illegal guns that are being attacked. All guns, and the means to lawfully obtain them, are targets. [More]
Today’s Gun Rights Examiner report shows, rhetoric about reasonableness and “gunsense” notwithstanding, screaming harridans will do what screaming harridans do.

Kurt wrote about these folks and the issue of gun edicts being especially dangerous for the disabled a few weeks back.

You can learn more about the case here and here.

Giving Up, or Laying Low?

Remember what Obama did before the last election? [More]

This is tactical. The strategy here is to secure the power first. After that, they'll do what people with power do.

With a vengeance.
