Panera Bread armed robberies show futility of corporate anti-gun policies

Trying to find source material on Panera Bread and guns, I came across a news report that pretty much makes every point I could hope to: a video about an armed robber who fired shots in – you guessed it – a Panera Bread outlet ... There’s no obvious date on the story, but an apparently related one from August, 2013 said a Panera Bread store manager and her boyfriend were charged. [More]

To Prove My Point

I talked about the scarcity of news reports about the plight of the Reese family in today's GRE, noting aside form a few of us #justabloggers, the "real reporters" just aren't interested.

There are numerous references for them on a Google web search, but if you confine your search to the Google new feed, look what happens.

I rest my case.

Par for the Course

I note many stores and shops paying lip service to get the Bloomberg harridans off their backs don't actually impose policy changes. If that's what they really want, all they need do is strap 'em on and let the market react accordingly.

All of which does not address what I originally laughed at useful idiot here about -- meaning, like a typical "progressive," he just ignores the inconvenient and starts babbling talking points.

Par for the course.

I wasn't inviting him to a discussion or debate anyway.  I was just telling him what a demonstrably pompous and contemptible fool he is.

Thanks Goodness THIS Will Stop!

What I want to know is, who will protect us from Panera Bread store managers?

Reese family files motion to vacate felony convictions

The move is a departure from prior legal strategies after a series of setbacks in a case that has embroiled the family for over three years. It also reveals that the family is now dependent on court-appointed counsel. [More]
Today's Gun Rights Examiner report brings another installment in the family's never-ending ordeal. Because it's a complex story stretching back for years, meaning if people haven't been following it, chances are it will be difficult to perceive all of the injustices and dangers they represent, and because "Authorized Journalists / legitimate news media / real reporters" can't advance their agenda by telling people about it, I expect this will be another one of those articles I post for a handful who care because it's the right thing to do.

Supporters of Your Rights?

John Kasich (R) and Mike DeWine (R) have also been supporters of your rights in their first terms as Governor and Attorney General, thus earning our endorsements. [More]
Really?

What have they done? I've seen some marginal movement, but no real fundamental seismic shifts, no real bully pulpit leadership and championing... if that's the best we can expect, say so. We can take it.

What have they done to atone for their pasts?  Is the only reason Kasich no longer supports an "assault weapons" ban because it's "not effective"?  When did  "principled statesman" Dewine apologize for and recant his Brady endorsement?

Their calculations aren't purely based on what's political expedient, are they?  Is there any way to tell?

What have they not done? Two-face is still cheesing out on protections for gun owners against thug "Only Ones" that would take practically no effort and are totally within his control.

This makes the entire nebulous endorsement suspect.  How about if you're going to encourage gun owners to donate and volunteer, you flesh out the details?

This is worse than buying a car sight-unseen based on how it's described in the ad.  You can get rid of a bad car on your own. It comes off like Fairfaxspeak.

We're all grownups here, and we have to be the ones who are candid and sincere. If you have a flawed candidate but he's the best you think we can get, make your case. But I don't think you're doing yourself -- and especially those looking to you for guidance -- any favors by putting lipstick on pigs.

Mission Accomplished?

Yael here thinks his mission is to offend America's gun owners. [More]

The funny thing is, what he's crowing about is no change in actual policy, and actually represents a public opinion loss for the gungrabbers.

And it ain't the first one.

What is it we observe about "progressives" and Opposite Day?

It's not the first time this loopy little subversive has invited everyone into his fantasy world. And it won't be the last. Just remember: He has no power. All he can do is make noise that makes no difference.

Want proof?  Get him to use his awesome platform and megaphone to turn this around. It's a CNBC poll, for God's sake, the extortion on businesses is backed by a billionaire with a huge media conglomerate at this beck and call, and Yael's fellow Fourth Estate Fifth Columnists are doing everything in their power to give the effort free publicity, yet still the grassroots overwhelms the Astrorturfers.

You're not important enough to seriously offend, Yael. Your bitchy warbling is, at most, an irritant, but as with other run-of-the-mill anti-gun media males, people who matter may glance your way while you're demanding attention, but they'll quickly size you up for the contemptible useful idiot that you are and move on to more important pursuits.

This Day in History: September 9

The Commander in Chief recommends to the officers to pay particular attention to the carriage of their men either upon parade or marching—more especially in the latter at the time of passing the reviewing officer or the officer of the day—nothing contributes so much to the appearance of a soldier, or so plainly indicates discipline, as an erect carriage, firm step, and steady countenance.
