There was a story recently about a California woman whose insurance company wouldn't pay for a cancer drug, but would cover assisted suicide. Is this just an extension of that?

Assisted suicide by cop. That's the phrase I was looking for.

What we NEED is to have Law Enforcement Officers, by virtue to their "superior" training and all the other hooey we hear as reason for them being the "only ones" who should be allowed to carry, held to a HIGHER standard than us poor, deplorable peed-ons. In any incident involving firearms, anything which would be a simple defense (i.e. burden of proof on the prosecutiion beyond reasonable doubt) for non LEOs should be an AFFIRMATIVE DEFENSE (burden of proof on the defendant by preponderance of evidence) for LEOS. They should have to prove by a preponderance of the evidence that the stated defense applied to them.
